My Writing Workshop teacher has assigned all of her classes a narrative essay that is due this Tuesday. While normally I would be jumping for joy, I find myself resenting the assignment. My teacher wants no less than 550 words, which is no problem, but she wants no more than 2000.
Wait, back up! Only 2000 words? You’ve got to be kidding me.
When I sit down to write a narrative, a whole story forms in mind. A whole story that will not be done justice with only 2000 words.
She gave us a good topic too.
“Write a story about yourself going back in time. It can be any time period that was not in your life, but history must stay the same.”
I have the whole thing written in my head, but I can’t fit it in just 2000 words. I tried, but it sounds choppy and neglected.
I hate it when things I write sound choppy and neglected. It’s like a peace of me that needs to be amputated, but I’m awake and I can feel it weather, rot, die and fall off.
I have my introduction complete, most of the middle, and the conclusion. My character is going back to the renaissance in Florence, Italy.
By they way, a new beastly trailer has been released, you can check it out here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Neo6W1f7hyY
Also, I’m a big fan of Katy Towell’s Children r’ Skary videos. You should check them out if you like cute and creepy things. This one is by far my favorite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuAGIWxQD8s
