*Sigh*

Currently Listening- A Lack of Color by: Death Cab for Cutie

I hate it when people mispronounced my name.
How hard is it to say "Sarah"?
S-A-R-A-H
I swear. I hate it when people exaggerate the 'A's, add a 'Y' and it comes out sounding like "Say-Ra"
It's Sarah. Pronounced "S-air-Ah"
It's been a long day. And it's only Wednesday.

Speach and Computer Viruses

Currently Listening - We Looked Like Giants by: Death Cab for Cutie

Sometimes, I say stupid things, or do stupid things, and make an ass out of myself in front of the people I call my friends. I do this more in front of my family, but I think they're so used to it that it doesn't bother them so much anymore. However, sometimes, I slip up, and my buddies look at me weird.

Then I have to bite my tongue for the duration of the day while I am in their presence, because no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to stop thinking about how I should be able to say the right thing, at precisely the right time, at least once. But I wind up making an ass out of myself.

Then, I have this lingering feeling of 'Stupid Syndrome', where I second guess almost everything that I do, and feel like I did not act accordingly. this is happening to me more often now, then in past years.

I think that this is because of these two images I have of myself that, depending on my outlook, I keep in my head at all times.

The first, is one where I can talk to people, and not really have to think about what I say. Get through the day with a smile, and little or no trouble, and go about my business like a normal person. This image is usually accompanied by the thought that I will actually be of noteworthiness in my adult life.

The second, however, is one where I am constantly saying the wrong thing, and doing the wrong thing, and mess everything up. I am looked upon by others as a failure, and a blubbering idiot.

I am neither of these images, because when I actually think about it, I can talk to people sometimes, when encouraged by some unseen force. Yes, I stutter, and second guess myself all the time. I also try not to appear to down, or too happy, or laugh to much, or to loudly, because that is just rude.

I completely forgot the point of me talking about this.

In Algebra, a friend of mine told me that waiting for my blog to update was like eating ice cream, and then finding out later that it was not really ice cream that you ate.

Then, he went on to say how sad it makes him, so I am blogging, even though I don't really feel like blogging.

I spent the better majority of my time yesterday cleansing my computer of a nasty little virus that blocked my security system from detecting it, so i had to manually search for it, and yank it out by the teeth.

I hate computer viruses.

A Letter To the Subject of Math

Currently Listening: The Boy With an Anchor - Oh No Oh My

Dear Mathematics,
My brain is not wired for you.
You cause me stress.
I dislike you immensely.

My mind is wired for words, not numbers. Words that string together to form sentences. You have so many formulas that do not make any sense when they are placed next to each other. not like words, words almost always make sense when placed next to each other.

You confuse me, and for nothing!

I shall never use you in the world, and all the notes I take while I attempt to understand you will be meaningless!

You have your people. The people who are gifted with your numbers. Why are you so mean to me?

I can paint a picture with words, no paint do I need. I can carry on a conversation. I can level the brightest of minds, or reason with the dullest light bulb. Can your numbers do that?

No.

I laugh at your numbers.Your meaningless numbers.

Did you know that your numbers envy my letters? Oh yes, they do. Sometimes, the hide as letters. Never for long though. The people gifted with numbers and always find them, not matter how much they hide. So you see Math, you are not so great.

After all, if not for people like me, people gifted with words, you would be nameless.

People like me named you; we teach others about you. We sustain you.

Then, after all of this, you mock us, you poke us and prod us. You stab our eyes out, and drive us insane. After all we do for you, you do nothing in return.

I immensely dislike you, Math.

I will conquer you, because my words can beat your numbers.

Wickles

Currently Listening: Black Eternity - B-Complex

So, yesterday, while in Winn-dixy, in the pickle ail, I noticed something strange on the shelf.

That strangness, was the prescience of the wickles.

I had to take a picture as proof that this existed. I don't know if this is the most clever name for a product that I've ever seen, or if it's the worst epic failure.

They're supposed to be 'Wickedly Delicious Pickles', hence the name 'Wickles'.

I just thought that I'd share that.

I have another riddle for you.

When the lights dim down, I come out to play.
I make pictures, and light your way home.
I am easily confused with satellites.

What am I?

Ye Ol' Faire

Currently Listening: Cherry Bomb - Joan Jett

As promised, I took pictures it the faire today, and also as promised, I will tell you about them.

When we walked in, and paid our two dollar admission, (by "We" I mean my grandpa and I), we were given a sticker that said "Perishables: Treat with Care" No, I do not have a picture.

Anyway, The guy giving out stickers gave one to my grandpa, then said "I'm sorry sir, we've run out of stickers, so your daughter will have to stay with me." While holding mine on his finger. Then, I obviously looked strange, because he handed me a sticker without further word.

This is why I will never have a husband.
I'd have to find someone who thinks that my strangness is normal.
He'd also have to put up with-
How about I save this for another blog?

Anyway, they first thing we saw when we set foot on the grounds, was the jousting. Which wasn't that great, however, it was still jousting. The lances were about an inch and a half thick, and the horses were rescued animals from the humane society. The knights where not rude like they have been in past years though, and they jousted, shattering their flimsy lances into splinters of wood; which were later gathered up, signed by the knights, and sold to people for five dollars.

(When we got home, and I told my grandma about that, she said "If I'm going to pay money for something like that, it better have been signed by King Arther himself.")

My grandpa and I wondered around aimlessly for about an hour and a half, looking at everything.

I also got to see several fake rocks.

That's right. Fake rocks.

Who gets fake rocks for anything? Fake rocks?! Fake! Rocks! I think that I was the only one weirded out by this. People sat on the fake rocks. People walked past the fake rocks. People kicked the fake rocks. Totally obiblious.

The whole time we where there, I watched the fake rocks from the corner of my eye, ready to grab the nearest sharp object should it jump up and try to dominate the world with it's fake rockness.

Or maybe, it would start crying and yelling "I'm so confused!" when the real rocks called it names; because fake rocks can never become real rocks. It's a law of nature. Now, it it wanted to become a tree stump, that's a different storey altogether.

So back to today. There where a lot of people with swords and daggers of course, but the quality was crap. There was no way that any sword at the faire could ever be used in real combat. They would be broken with the first touch of a real sword. No, scratch that, the real sword would show up, and the flimsy one would just shatter at the sight of it. Kind of like the fake rock with the real rock.

I still like to play with them though.
A sword in a sword as long as it's sharp and pointy.

Probably my favorite part about the faire, are the signs. Like this one.

Places like comic con, and the national gaming competition have signs like these, and it's not looked on a weird at all, so why not the Renaissance faire.

Every time I look at it, it makes me smile.

However, I looked for the dragons. I wanted a sexy dragon guy to bring home with me, but all I could find was a girl in mascot dragon suite. So that was a bust.

I also looked for Camelot, and was told that I was off my head by some knights who where drinking coffee.

That's okay though, I wouldn't know how to explain the dragon chained to my bed to my mom anyway.

I only saw this guy once, when he was telling some kids that he could only make animals from balloons.

I think he was supposed to be a jester.

I also think that he does a bad job at being a jester.

Maybe he and the fake rock should get together, and form a union or something.

The bird show was the second thing we watched in the stadium. There where two different owls, and a halk.

The owl in the picture didn't want to go to the guy when he was called.

The halk just flew away.

Really. When he was released from his cage, the halk flew to it's perch, but soon after, flew away to a really tall tree outside the grounds.

The bird man was talking about how halks have brilliant eyesight, and hunt rabbits. then he said, "Release the rabbit!" and a tow car with bunny ears entered the stadium, and the halk swooped down on it and held on, even after the car started to move again. So the halk clawed the 'rabbit', who was apparently a zombie, until the birdman gave him a treat to let go.

This in chainmail. Chainmail is amazing. We applaud the chainmale. However, this chainmail is rusty. The chainmail is still amazing.

Not only does it protect knights in battle, but it looks good while protecting the knights in battle.

Say it with me.

The. Chainmail. Is. Amazing.

That is all.

This is a doll from a vendor stand. I have no idea what she was doing at a Renaissance faire. She's not even dressed in period clothing.

They were selling her though, and as a doll collector, I had to drool over her.

Drool

Drool

Drool

Drool

Drool

Now, every year that I'ce been to the renassance faire, there is a place called "Mad Dogs Tavern" and they, in my opinion, have the best drink at the faire.

Homemade lemonade.

You can make this lemonade at home, is a cup of sugar, and a cup of lemon juice; but here, you get a nifty bottle to go with it.

I now have two.

(Also, in the picture, if you look closly, you can see the reflection of my grandpa, and me takeing the picture)

I have saved the best for the last, and I must say, it is the best costume that I have ever seen. Ever.

*Brumroll please*

Ta da!

This man is on stilts, dressed as an Int from The Lord of the Rings. How cool is that!
I love that he put so much betailing into it.
If I wasn't afriad that I might make him fall down, I would have hugged him.
That's how much I loved the costume.

I just thought that this picture was cool. It's like he's grabbing for something, but he's not.
The sun was at just the right angle and everything.

That's all the pictures from the faire. I was to busy enjoying it to take photos of everything.
In case you were wondering though, the awswer to yesterdays riddle was Air.
You can't live without air, and air sings.
I'll blog tommorow too, hopefully. and I have a picture of wickles. You have to wait till tommorow to find out was wickles are though.
I'm going to go crawl in the bed.
Goodnight.

...in which I talk of nothing...

Currently Listening: The Ocean(Moon Version) - The Bravery

This morning I woke up and thought that is was Monday. It wasn’t until I was about to walk out the door did I realize that it was Friday. Oh, and what a Friday. Today was probably the best Friday that I’ve had in months.

Aside from the chemistry test that I took this afternoon.

Tomorrow, I get to go to ye lo’ renaissance faire, and watch knights in authentic armor beat each other with lances, while simultaneously riding on agitated horses.

Bloody good fun, I say. My grandpa is going with me this year, since my mom can’t. That means that I will be given many history lessons, and I will have someone who will drool over the deadly weapons with me.

However, I’ve decided not to dress up this year. I’m going to wear my normal clothes. (Although, come to think of it, most of my clothes look like costumes anyway.) Oh well.

I have a snood on my head.

My snood has decided to like me today.

On to better news, I came up with a riddle.

I am neither loud, nor soft when I whisper in your ear.
When I make my anger known, no mercy do I show.
You can not see me, but you need me to survive.

What am I?

Try and answer this. Anyone who gets it right will receive virtual hugs, and possibly a few words that don’t make sense.

Link Time!

I’ve actually been meaning to post these for a while. The links to two web comics that I read.

The first being Winters in Lavelle.

It’s about Two siblings, who by using a magic globe, find themselves in a strange land, and in the company of many enchanting characters.

http://wintersinlavelle.com/?p=13

Really, my description does not give it justice, but once you starting reading, be prepared to be sitting at your computer for several hours. It’s that captivating.

The second is Gunnerkrigg Court.

The tale of Antimony Carver a young girl who has just started attending a strange and mysterious school called Gunnerkrigg Court; and the events that unfold around her as she becomes embroiled in political intrigues between Gunnerkrigg Court and the inhabitants of the Gillitie Wood, a forest outside the school.

http://www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=1

Also, if you start reading this, be prepared to be sitting in front of your computer, and developed a withdrawal complex when you get to more recent pages.

I apologize if this post seems jagged, and random. In my defense, I am really tired.
I'll make up for it by posting pictures of the faire with vivid detail tomorrow when I get home.

This Is Why I Try Not to Read at School

Currently Listening: Brothers on a Hotel Bed - Death Cab For Cutie

On a day like today in algebra class, my mind wonders because I have been reading all morning. So while I'm not paying attention to the math lesson that I will never use. I daydream.

However, today, I have a splitting headache, and I want to sleep, to nap, to shut my brain down and let the pillows take over.

But, alas, in algebra I write my notes, for I must if I ever wish to leave high school.

My mom is have surgery tomorrow, so I'm staying out of school to be with her at the hospital.

I don't know what it is about hospitals, but I always get this unclean feeling from them. It's not like I dislike them or anything, but when you're surrounded by coughing people who don't cover their noses when they sneeze, it's hard not to be a tad paranoid.

It may just be me though, because I'm told that it's not normal to wipe your desk off before you sit down.

I re-read Beastly by Alex Flinn yesterday, and Tithe by Holly Black today. My friend named Cameron likes to read the back of the covers in a deep narrator voice, and every time, I tell him that she should grow up and be a reader for audio books.

About a week ago, I was reading Sin Undone by Larissa Ione, and he started to read the back, but he threw it down on my desk and fussed about vampires and werewolves for a while.

Now for an example of my nerdyness.

Friday, MGM had it's homecoming pep rally, and because my chemistry teacher is to preoccupied with her cheer leaders to teach us, she took my class out to the bleachers while they ran through things. Now, I was sitting with my buddies, and we made a group decision to sneak off to the library before it started. So, as students began poring into the bleachers, we removed ourselves from them.

Then, when we go to the library, two more of my buddies popped up out of nowhere, and we parted in the library.

and by "parted" I mean sat around one of the tables discussing various topics.

It was fun.

Blagh, not much happened today.

I wanted to drop a link to a web comic that I'm currently reading though.

So here it is.

Have fun.

Geese, and Optimus Prime

Currently Listening: Alice theme song by Danny Elfman

Yesterday, I found out that I've been shampooing my face when I though that I was washing it. I would not have thought that there was such a thing as bar shampoo, but I was wrong.

All is well though, I have some REAL soap now.

I had been wondering why my eczema had been acting up so badly.

Anyway, My family and I just finished watching The Lighting Thief. I thought it was good, though I've never read the books, so I can't really compare the movie to them. I have, however, read the original Greek myths, so I was sitting on the couch the whole time going "HECK YEAH!" and getting on my mothers nerves.

If that says anything.

I got to see a few geese crossing the road yesterday.

The picture was taken with my cell phone camera, because I left my digital camera at home like a dummy. My mom, Grandpa, and I had to wait for these little guys to cross the road.

While we where waiting, I couldn't help but thing that The City of Mobile should put up a 'Geese Crossing' sign or something. These guys could have gotten hurt. A person could have gotten hurt by running over them and causing a massive wreck.

But nothing happened, and Optimus Prime saved the day. Not really.

*Le sigh* I have to patch up my bookbag...again. There is a hole, the size of a dime on the bottom of it, I'm afraid stuff is going to fall though, or the whole thing with go "You know what, I don't like you anymore." and the whole bottom will fall out while I'm on my way to class.

In speaking of my bookbag, (witch could as a whole other person in the lunch line) I started school two weeks ago, which is why I haven't blogged in forever. I'm to tired when I get home.

I have three of my core classes this semester: Chemistry, History, and Algebra Two/Trigonometry; and one next semester: English. I'm also taking French One, and Health as electives. Next semester, I'll be taking Creative Writing Club, French Two, and Computer Applications.

My teachers are as bearable as they can be, with the exception of my Algebra teacher. She is one bitter old woman. I have lunch right before her class, and I have to skip half of my lunch break and run the risk of being suspended just to make it to her class on time. She stands by the door, and as soon as the first bell rings she closes it and counts everyone who walks in afterword as late, even if they where standing on the threshold at the time. She does this with a smerkish smile on her face, like she gets off on it.

That, and she doesn't give us good notes. She writes a problem on the board and expects us to automatically know how to do it.

She probably thinks that I'm on drugs or something though, because everyday, I sit in her class, and all but nod off while she's talking. She has that, smooth, lull-you-to-sleep grandmother voice.

I'll be lucky if I make it though the semester with a full head of hair.

I think my history teacher is crazy to, but that is a tale for another blog altogether.

Shit, for which I am Sad

So, today, I was home by myself while my grandparents ran to the bank. I washed dishes, I washed and folded clothes, and I made sure that everything was neat and tidy. Then, just as I sat down to resume the video game I've been trying to beat for the past three days, a thought occurred to me. I should be doing something productive.

So, after a moment of thought, while I gathered my courage, wits, and the sewing scissors, I decided to try something new that I had read about online. Deconstructing a t shirt.

Now, I didn't want to use a shirt that I wear all of the time, so I grabbed a USA Football shirt that my mother had given me for when he gets tickets to a game. I grabbed this shirt for two reasons, one: there was no way possible that I could have made this shirt any more unattractive than it already was, and two: it's about three sizes to large for me.

I marked on the back of the shirt with sidewalk chalk, since I had no tailors chalk, and began cutting. I decided that since it was my first time to attempt this, I should go with something simple, so I braided a section of the back.

When I was finished, the shirt was more my size and fitted, with an envious design on the back. I was so excited, I modeled the finished project to my family.

Now, my mom, loved it and asked me to do the same to her shirt. My grandmother, was passive about the whole thing. Then, there was my grandfather, sitting in the recliner of the living room,

"That looks like shit."

was what he said, and nothing more.

So, i took the shirt off, and buried it in a drawer, where it will never be seen again.

You see, the thing with my grandfather is, when I show him something that I made, he just nods and doesn't say anything. So, I'm wondering if this was just a burst of what he wants to say all the time, and he just couldn't contain it.

What really bothers me though, is how much it bothers me. Normally, I could not care less about the opinion of others. Really. It's not like I'm a I-hate-the-world-and-don't-give-a-damn-person, quite the opposite actually. I'm more of a I-respect-that-you-don't-like-it-but-I-do-so-I-don't-really-care-what-you-think person.

That bothered me though, to the point that I don't feel like doing anything at all now.

I'm hoping that I will feel better tomorrow. My friend and I are having a summer blow out weekend, to sort of balance the first day of school. A sort of, karma thing, if you will.

After typing all of that, I realized that it sounds like a mope story, and when I started typing, I didn't intend for it to sound like a mope story. Oh well.

Cheers?

Everyone Loves a Link Page

Currently Listening to: "Butterfly" - Ian Love

This is going to be a short entry.

So I finally made a page full of links to things that I think are cool, and worthy of the viewing pleasure or mind. (now that didn't sound weird at all, *Sheepish Grin*)

Yes, the page is called 'Cool Stuff and Things' and it is located at the top of the page here. It contains the link to a few webcomics, non-profit organizations, and independent artists/amazing web sites that will give you many eyegasims.

So go check it out.

Please?

So I'm going to go read Tom Sawer, because it is required by the school. Or not.
